Graber, Jack Flew From: Las Vegas To: Phoenix, AZ in November/2005 in Economy Class We flew out of Las Vegas on Saturday, November 19, 2005. Equipment was an Airbus 320, which was broken. First an announcement that there would be a delay. Then about 45 minutes late, we boarded. As we were being seated, a female seatmate asked if there were a seat available up close to the front of the aircraft (there was) she would like to be able to bolt through the door, run through the concourse and maybe catch the connectiing flight. Instead she received a lecture from the overweight, crew cut, male flight attendant (sorry that I didn't write his name down) that everybody on the flight was connecting and offered no help. I remarked (loud enough for him to overhear) that she sure was not going to get any help. That made him angry so he lectured me too. Later a female flight attendant accomodated the lady and set her closer to the front. |
Graber, Jack Flew From: Phoenix, AZ To: Wichita, KS in November/2005 in First Class My wife and I were connecting from an Airbus to a Regional Jet 50 for the flight to Wichita. The seat spacing on the airbus is quite tight but worse on the RJ. We had seat assignments in row 12. That is the last row on the right side of the aircraft as the standup pot is just behind that row. AS we passed about row number 8, we began to smell stale urine odor. By the time we were in row 12 it was terrible. Comments to the flight attendant only got a head nod but no action. The airplane was full or I would have insisted on moving. We were already seven hours late from the original schedule because of a Maintenance delay on the previous flight from Las Vegas. I was tempted to get off. Should have. Shame on American West for allowing the aircraft to be improperly serviced. |
Summer Flew From: Seattle, WA To: San Diego, CA in October/2005 in Economy Class My trip included a lay-over in Vegas going both directions. When I arrived in Vegas from Seattle, I was informed my connecting flight was cancelled. The next flight was 5 hours later. I wasn't even offered an apology for the inconvenience. That flight left almost an hour late.
On the return flights, I was informed in San Diego that, "The pilots are taking a break in Phoenix and will arrive approximately 45 minutes late". I was then booked on a later flight to Seattle from Vegas. When we arrived in Vegas, the original connecting flight I had booked had not left yet. so we were forced to literally run to get on the plane.
This trip was by far the WORST experience i have ever had flying, and will gladly pay a higher fare to avoid flying on this airline again. |
